If you're after the secret room, just ask for the "back bar" when you order. The door you're looking for is behind the big curtain near the pool tables, not the bathroom one. I've been a few times and the staff are fine about it if you're not being weird, just don't film anything or they'll kick you out. The real hidden gem is asking for the off-menu Thai whiskey blend they keep under the counter, it's half the price of the imported stuff and way better.

The secret room is real but honestly it's been overhyped by youtube vloggers. I've been a few times and it's basically just a small lounge with better AC and a proper whiskey selection. The real value at 71 is the Thursday night football crowd, that's when the place actually comes alive. If you're set on finding it look for the door next to the men's restroom but be chill about it, the staff gets annoyed when people make a scene.

dunno about a secret room but the real trick is going on a quiet night and just chatting up the bartender for a while. they might offer u something not on the menu

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
