One night, though, I heard some... unusual sounds coming from the older part of the building, almost like chanting or singing, very low and slow. Nobody I asked seemed to know anything about it. Is there a folklore story, a local legend, or something else entirely behind those late-night sounds at Thonburi Hospital?

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
