So, I'm heading to Sivalai Place in a few weeks. Heard amazing things, but the online reviews are kinda...vague. Anyone know about the hidden rooftop bar they whisper about? Seriously, I've Googled it, stalked Instagram, nothing. It's gotta be a thing, right? Because the regular bar is nice, but a rooftop in @Bangkok? That's the dream. I need intel, peeps. Seriously considering bribing a bellhop for the deets.

the regular bar's fine but honestly that rooftop thing is more of an urban legend at this point. i've asked around and even some long-term staff at sivalai place just shrug when you bring it up. if it does exist it's probably not open to the public or only for private events. better off hitting up tichuca rooftop bar on sukhumvit soi 36 instead, that one's legit and you can actually book a table

You could just call the hotel directly and ask if they have a rooftop space. Pretend you're considering booking an event there and see what they say. I've found that front desk staff at Sivalai Place are pretty straightforward if you don't come off like you're hunting for a speakeasy. If they say no, it's probably just a staff smoking area or something, not worth the effort.

Nah, bribery's overkill. Try this: Sivalai Place is kinda labyrinthine, right? I've stayed there. Look for a discreet, almost invisible, service elevator near the main stairs on the 7th floor. It's usually tucked away and unlit. If you find it, hit the top button. It's not marked. Trust me. Don't expect flashing neon signs or anything; it's all about the secret part. If the elevator goes up without fanfare, you're golden. If it just...doesn't move? Maybe it's a different night. Or a different hotel entirely. Good luck. You'll need it.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
