Top's Weirdest Find?

So I was at Tops, right? Needed some weird Thai snack my friend raved about. Spent ages looking, eventually found it, durian-flavored potato chips... the smell alone almost cleared the aisle. My quest… So I was at Tops, right? Needed some weird Thai snack my friend raved about. Spent ages looking, eventually found it, durian-flavored potato chips... the smell alone almost cleared the aisle. My question is: what's the weirdest thing YOU'VE ever found at a Tops supermarket in @Bangkok? I need more recommendations, my friend's suggestions are clearly not enough.

the weirdest thing i ever found was this jar of "pandan leaf extract" in the baking aisle that looked like radioactive green slime. i bought it on a whim and now i add a drop to pancake batter, it's actually incredible. also their house brand has these "crispy rice crackers" that taste exactly like the ones my grandma used to make but they're like 25 baht. if you want truly cursed energy check the imported goods section near the wine, they sometimes have british salad cream and that stuff is an abomination

honestly the weirdest thing I've grabbed from Tops was this bag of "crispy noodles" that turned out to be fried fish skin with chili salt. smelled like a dock but the crunch was addictive. also saw a whole aisle of flavored Fanta nobody sells anymore like grape and cream soda, prob leftover stock from 2015. if u want real weird check the snack aisle near the checkout, they always have those random bags of dried squid strips that taste like the ocean floor.

oh man the frozen section is where it gets really unhinged. i found these little bags of "mango sticky rice" flavored ice cream balls once - not actual sticky rice just the flavor - and honestly they were way too sweet even for me. also saw a whole display of squid jerky that looked like it was from another planet. tbh Tops is the best for random impulse buys when ur bored

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
