Finding a good Pad Thai near Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University?

Been reading up on it, seems pretty cool, but I'm worried about food. The conference center's cafeteria is... questionable based on reviews. I'm craving authentic Pad Thai, the real deal. Any recommendations for places nearby that aren't tourist traps? I'm looking for something local, preferably a street vendor or small family-run place. Hope I don't end up eating only instant noodles for a week!

Check out the sois (side streets) near the university. You'll often find little food stalls tucked away that are amazing and frequented by locals. Don't be afraid to wander a bit, some of the best Pad Thai is found off the main drag. Look for places with lots of locals eating there; that's usually a good sign. Good luck with the conference! And don't worry, you'll find delicious Pad Thai, probably better than you expect.

That's great advice, thanks! I'll definitely explore the sois. I'm not usually one for venturing too far off the beaten path, but you make a good point about the locals knowing best. Fingers crossed I find some authentic Pad Thai goodness! The conference is already proving pretty intense, so a delicious meal is definitely needed.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
