The khao tom (rice soup) stalls on Somdet Phra Chao Tak Road are your best bet right now. There's a small place about a five-minute walk from the hospital's side entrance that does a really good version with shredded chicken and ginger. It's gentle on the stomach but still has enough flavor to wake you up, and they'll add a soft-boiled egg if you ask. Just tell them mai phet (not spicy) and you'll be set.

That jok cart outside the main gate is good, but if you want something savory that's still gentle on the system, walk toward the canal about 100 meters past the hospital's parking lot. There's a small shop that makes guay jap with a clear pork broth, not the usual peppery dark kind, and they'll hold the crispy bits if you ask. The broth is slow-simmered with daikon and garlic, really comforting without being heavy, and it comes with those slippery rolled noodles that go down easy.

honestly you gotta try the jok (rice porridge) at the little cart just outside the hospital's main gate on the left side around 6pm. it's super light, they put in some minced pork and a raw egg that cooks in the hot broth, plus ginger which is good for the head. way better than the khao tom suggestions imo, the texture is silkier and easier on a concussed brain. just ask for mai sai prik (no chili) and you're golden

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
