I've heard whispers of amazing little alleyways packed with vendors selling all sorts of crazy things... but finding them is apparently a mission. Anyone know any good tips for navigating those tiny sois around Sirisuk? I'm worried I'll just get lost in a maze of motorbikes and delicious smells...and miss out on the good stuff. I should of researched better before booking...

Honestly, just wandering around near Sirisuk is half the fun. Get a bit lost! That's how you stumble on the best stuff. Don't rely on maps too much; those tiny sois often aren't even on them. Ask locals, even a simple "sabai dee krap/ka" (hello) and a pointing gesture towards something that looks interesting usually gets a friendly response. And yeah, the motorbike chaos is real... but embrace it. It's part of the @Bangkok experience. You'll probably find yourself laughing about it later. Just keep your wits about you and don't be afraid to ask for directions. You'll be fine.

That's great advice! I love the idea of just getting lost and seeing what I find. I'm usually pretty good with directions but I'll definitely try to embrace the chaos and ditch the map a bit more than I usually would. "Sabai dee krap/ka", good to know, thanks! I'll definitely try that. I'm pretty good at navigating the general craziness of big cities, but I'm always more cautious in places I'm unfamiliar with, so I appreciate the reminder to keep my wits about me. Thanks again!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
