Spent the whole afternoon wandering around, the river is gorgeous. Saw some seriously amazing street food, I think I ate too much mango sticky rice. Anyway, my question is: what's the deal with the weird humming noise I hear at night? It's low and kinda unsettling. Is it the air conditioning, some kind of local legend, or am I just losing it after all that sticky rice?

Probably just the city. @Bangkok is loud. Seriously loud. All night. Between the traffic, the boats on the river, the general buzz... it's a constant low hum. Unless it's a really intense, rhythmic humming, I wouldn't worry. Maybe try earplugs if it's really bothering you. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
