It's huge! Seriously, I got utterly turned around in that maze of pools, gyms, and saunas. I swear I saw a yeti...or maybe it was just the steam. Anyway, I'm planning another visit (maybe with a map this time?), but I'm curious: what's the deal with the incredibly confusing layout? Is it some kind of initiation ritual or just incredibly poor signage? I nearly missed my appointment because I ended up in the women's changing room twice... I thought I'd found a shortcut to the spa. Turns out, it wasn't.

honestly the layout isnt that bad once you clock the color coding on the floors. the blue stripe leads to the pool area, red stripe to the gyms, yellow to the steam rooms and saunas. nobody tells you this tho, you just have to notice it yourself which feels like some secret expat handshake

the women's changing room thing is a rite of passage tbh. i did the same thing my first time and walked straight into a lady in a towel. we both screamed. the front desk girls are used to it, they just point and laugh now

if you want a real shortcut to the spa next time, go past the boxing ring and take the stairs down behind the juice bar. cuts like 5 minutes off the walk and you avoid the sauna maze entirely

I've been going to 71 for about two years and I'm convinced the layout is intentional to keep you from noticing how many people are actually there. It spreads everyone out so nothing ever feels too crowded, even on weekends when the place is packed. The trade-off is you'll wander into a random yoga class or someone's private training session.

If you use the app, the digital map actually updates in real time with your location. It's not perfect but it's better than the paper maps that show a version of the club from 2019. The wifi is solid throughout too, which helps when you're standing in a corridor that looks exactly like the last three corridors.

The shortcut through the boxing ring stairs to the spa is real, but the door at the bottom sticks. You have to shoulder it a bit or someone inside has to let you through. Just warning you so you don't think you've found another dead end.

tbh the yeti sighting might have been real, ive seen some serious characters in the steam room around 6pm. the layout is just decades of bad decisions layered on top of each other, like someone kept adding rooms without a blueprint

if you want the easiest route next time, just follow the sound of the tennis balls bouncing. the courts are right next to the front desk so you can orient yourself from there. the spa shortcut everyone talks about is actually through the juice bar stairs but that entrance is locked after 7pm so watch the time

the women's changing room thing is basically your welcome gift, i did it twice before i learned to read the little symbols on the doors. theyre tiny and easy to miss which feels intentional

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
