I'd actually go up there for a late afternoon swim if you can. The pool gets that golden light filtering through the buildings around 4pm and it's way less crowded than the bar area. The bar gets packed with Instagram crowds by 6, but the pool deck stays mellow even as the sun goes down. Grab a drink from the bar and just hang by the water instead.

You can totally do both if you time it right. I'd show up around 4:30, hop in the pool for 20 minutes when it's still quiet, then grab a spot at the bar just as the crowds start rolling in.

yeah the rooftop bar is the main draw for sure. the pool is more of a "hey i'm hot and need to cool off" thing than a scene. i'd say do the bar for sunset and maybe just dip your feet in the pool later if you're still up there

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
