So I'm prepping for a trip to @Bangkok, and I've heard Bumrungrad is top-notch. My aunt had some serious health issues a few years back, and she raved about the care she got there, better than anythin… So I'm prepping for a trip to @Bangkok, and I've heard Bumrungrad is top-notch. My aunt had some serious health issues a few years back, and she raved about the care she got there, better than anything she'd experienced back home in the US. I'm wondering though...what's the deal with getting around? Is the transport readily available and easy to navigate, even for someone who is, shall we say, not exactly feeling their best? Or should I pre-book a private car for every appointment? It's a big hospital, right? I want to minimize stress during what could be a fairly intense experience.

Bumrungrad is indeed excellent. My friend used it too, great experience. Getting around @Bangkok is pretty easy, even when you're not feeling great. The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway are clean, air-conditioned, and easy to use. Grab (it's like Uber) is also super convenient and affordable, you can even specify wheelchair accessibility if needed. Taxis are plentiful too, but Grab's usually easier to track and pay for. Inside the hospital itself, it's massive, but they have excellent wayfinding and staff are usually happy to help direct you. Pre-booking a car isn't strictly necessary, but it might give you peace of mind, especially if you're concerned about mobility. Weigh the convenience against the cost, it's your trip, prioritize what makes you feel most comfortable.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
