So I stayed at this hotel, right by the river. The pool was amazing, seriously, best pool I've ever been in. But the Wi-Fi...man, it was a nightmare. Like, dial-up speed slow. I tried everything, rest… So I stayed at this hotel, right by the river. The pool was amazing, seriously, best pool I've ever been in. But the Wi-Fi...man, it was a nightmare. Like, dial-up speed slow. I tried everything, restarting my phone, moving rooms...nothing. Spent half my vacation trying to upload a single photo. My question is, are there any secret Wi-Fi hacks locals use? Maybe some hidden network nobody tells tourists about?

The local SIM is the move and everyone's said it, but here's another trick. If you're near the river and desperate, the public library at Bangkok City Hall has free Wi-Fi that's surprisingly fast. It's on Din Daeng Road, about a ten minute walk from Saphan Taksin BTS. Just bring your passport to register at the front desk. I've used it to upload video edits when my own connection was being stubborn.

heh yeah that riverside hotel wifi struggle is real. next time just pop into any 7-eleven along charoen krung road and grab a true move tourist sim. 7 days unlimited data is like 299 baht and you'll have better signal than half the hotels in bangkok. the tourist sims are at the counter just show them your passport

honestly the wifi tip nobody tells you is to just buy a local SIM with a data plan. ais or true move have tourist packages that are cheap and way more reliable than hotel wifi. i was at a riverside hotel last month and same thing, pool was killer but the internet was useless. popped in a SIM for like 300 baht and was streaming 4k no problem. also some malls like icon siam or central world have free guest wifi that's actually decent if you're desperate

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
