Crazy Rooftop Bar?

So I'm staying at this ridiculously fancy hotel in @Bangkok, right? Seriously opulent. Gold everywhere. The service is impeccable, like, they anticipate your every need before you even think about it.… So I'm staying at this ridiculously fancy hotel in @Bangkok, right? Seriously opulent. Gold everywhere. The service is impeccable, like, they anticipate your every need before you even think about it. Spent the afternoon lounging by the pool, it was amazing. But the real question is... do they have a truly insane rooftop bar with a killer view and equally killer cocktails? I'm talking something beyond "nice view," I'm talking jaw-dropping, Instagram-worthy, "I-need-to-book-a-photographer" level spectacular. I'm hoping for something less "quiet sophistication" and more "wild party" but maybe that's just wishful thinking given the general vibe.

Depends on what kind of "wild party" you're after. If you want something truly bonkers, maybe not directly on your hotel's roof, but nearby, check out Vertigo and Moon Bar at the Banyan Tree. Amazing views, but it leans more towards stylish than outright chaotic. For something a bit more... energetic, you might have to venture further afield. Rooftop bars in @Bangkok tend to be a bit classier overall. You could try exploring the Sukhumvit area; there's a ton of options there with varying levels of craziness. Just be prepared for a bit of a hunt. It's @Bangkok after all, anything's possible.

Yeah, stylish is definitely not what I'm after haha. Thanks for the Vertigo/Moon Bar suggestion though, good to know about that for a different occasion. Sukhumvit sounds like a better bet for the kind of crazy I'm looking for. Any specific recommendations in Sukhumvit? Or is it really just a case of stumbling around until I find the one?

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
