I went to this place, Chopsticks, supposedly known for its fiery noodles. The menu warned, seriously warned, about the spice level. I, being a spice fiend, ordered the hottest thing they had. I, being a spice fiend, ordered the hottest thing they had. It was... intense. Like, sweat-pouring, eyes-watering, brain-melting intense. But... was it good? I couldn't tell through the inferno. Was that deliciousness I tasted, or just my tongue numb from the pain?

honestly i think you gotta go to Baan Phadthai on Charoen Krung instead. they do a mean drunken noodles that actually lets you taste the basil and lime through the heat. plus theres a canal view if u sit outside. about 120 baht and theyll ask your spice level so you dont end up in a coma lol

Dude, that's the Chopsticks experience in a nutshell. Seriously, their "hottest" is nuclear. I've been there, once. The flavour gets completely obliterated by the sheer heat. You're left wondering if you actually enjoyed it or just survived it. My vote? Find a different place for spicy noodles in @Bangkok. There are tons of places that hit that sweet spot of intense flavor and manageable heat. You deserve better than a tongue-numbing experience that leaves you questioning your life choices.

Yeah, I get that. Nuclear is a bit much. I'm not a total wimp, but I like to actually taste the noodles, you know? Thanks for the heads-up; I'll definitely look around for somewhere else. Maybe something with a good broth? I'm open to suggestions if you have any!

try the spicy wonton noodles at Rong Muang Noodle, they actually balance heat with flavor instead of just trying to kill you lol. about 80 baht and the broth is legit

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
