My friend told me stories about the unbelievably long lines, and he said he waited for hours just to submit some paperwork. Is there a secret to beating the queues or a less insane time to go? I'm seriously stressing out about this. Should of planned better, I guess...

I'd recommend checking their official Facebook page the morning of your visit. The embassy posts updates about unexpected closures or reduced hours there, not on their main website. Saved me a wasted trip last month when they announced a half day.

honestly the real trick is going on a wednesday or thursday afternoon, not monday morning when everyone else shows up. i've been twice and the line moves way faster once they actually open the second window around 1:30pm. also there's a decent coffee cart on soi 15 that'll save u from going crazy while u wait, just bring small bills cause they never have change

if you're really stressing about it, the fixer thing is actually a real option but you gotta be careful. the legit ones hang around the 7-eleven on wireless road, not right at the gate, and they'll usually show u some kind of id or badge if u ask. cost me 500 baht last time and i was out in under an hour, totally worth it for the heat alone. just don't pay upfront until you're actually inside

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
