Nigerian Embassy Visit

So I went to the Nigerian Embassy in @Bangkok today, needed to get some paperwork sorted. The building itself was pretty unassuming, nothing flashy. Inside though, it was a whole other world, bustling… So I went to the Nigerian Embassy in @Bangkok today, needed to get some paperwork sorted. The building itself was pretty unassuming, nothing flashy. Inside though, it was a whole other world, bustling, lots of people, a real hive of activity. The staff were super helpful, even though the wait was a bit long. My question is: What's the story behind the art displayed in the waiting area? It felt like a mini-museum of Nigerian culture, I really wanted to know more about the pieces. They were amazing!

That's awesome you got your paperwork sorted! I've never been inside a Nigerian embassy, but your description makes it sound fascinating. Maybe try contacting the embassy directly, their website might have information on the art collection, or they could even put you in touch with the artist(s) or curator. Failing that, a quick Google search using keywords like "Nigerian art @Bangkok embassy" or "contemporary Nigerian art" might turn up something. Worth a shot!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
