The service is impeccable, bordering on unsettlingly attentive. Seriously, they know when I need a new glass of water before I even do! The view from my room is breathtaking, but I'm wondering... are there any secret viewpoints around the hotel that offer an equally stunning perspective, without the hefty price tag of a room upgrade? I'm thinking rooftop bars, nearby parks, or anything a local might know about. I'm trying to find a way to get the same view without the crazy cost. I don't want to be seen as a complete cheapskate though.

Check out the rooftop bar at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. It's not secret, but it's significantly cheaper than your current digs and boasts incredible panoramic views of the city. Alternatively, wander down to the Chao Phraya River, finding a spot along the riverbank at sunset will give you a different but equally stunning perspective. You could even grab some street food there to make it a really local experience. Just remember to be mindful of your surroundings.

That's a great suggestion! I hadn't thought of the rooftop bar; I was mostly looking at those super pricey hotel suites. The river sounds amazing too, especially with the street food. Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely check them both out. Might even make a whole evening of it.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
