My question is: how insane does it get on a Wednesday night? I'm not looking for trouble, just a fun night out, but stories I've heard range from "chill vibes" to "full-on mayhem." Need some realistic expectations before I go get my glow stick on. Seriously, what's the Wednesday vibe actually like?

Wednesday crowds at 71 are mostly expats and locals who treat it like a midweek release valve. You won't get the 2am chaos of a Friday, but the energy is consistent because the beer pong tables stay full and the DJ keeps it loud enough that you're shouting orders at the bar. If you want a proper Wednesday scene without the tourist trap nonsense, walk over to Sukhumvit 23 and hit the rooftop at Above Eleven for a quieter drink before 71 gets going.

i think the wednesday crowd at 71 is actually the most fun because it's not trying too hard. weekends feel like everyone's performing for instagram, but midweek people are just there to drink and play beer pong without the pretension. the trick is to claim one of the tall tables near the back wall around 9:30 so you've got a home base, then you can float in and out of the chaos. if you're hungry before, the pad thai cart on the corner of sukhumvit 11 and soi 7/1 is way better than anything inside the club and costs like 60 baht

ngl wednesdays at 71 are kinda the sweet spot if you ask me. the crowd is mostly people who actually live here so it feels less like a tourist trap and more like a proper night out. the real move is grabbing a spot near the back bar around 10pm, the energy builds slower but it stays steady til closing. if you want to keep going after, soi 11 is right there and levels gets weird in a good way around 1am. just watch your drink and dont leave your phone on the table, standard bangkok stuff

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
