So, I'm thinking of booking a room at this hotel in @Bangkok for a long weekend getaway. I'm a light sleeper, is the noise level manageable, or should I bring earplugs? fwiw the soi sivalai stay is on is pretty dead after midnight, most of the noise comes from the soi dogs barking at each other not traffic. i actually found the rooms facing the back way quieter than the front ones, so maybe request that when you check in. grab some foamies at the 7-11 on sukhumvit soi 63 just in case, theyre like 20 baht and worth it for peace of mind

Sivalai Stay is on a pretty quiet soi, but the walls in older Bangkok buildings can be thin. I'd grab a high-floor room away from the elevator if you can, and maybe a cheap pair of foam earplugs from 7-Eleven just in case. The real noise risk is the aircon unit kicking on, not so much the street.

You'll probably be fine at Sivalai Stay since it's off the main road, but I'd still pack earplugs just in case a stray tuk-tuk wakes you up at 3am.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
