Snakes at Benchakitti Park

Yeah, they're around. That's almost certainly a golden tree snake, they're pretty common in Bangkok's greener parks and they're not venomous. They usually stick to the trees near the lake but sometimes end up on the paths after rain. I've seen a few on the elevated walkway near the Ratchadaphisek entrance, just keep a bit of distance and they'll move along.

fwiw i've seen way more snakes there in the early morning around 6am than any other time. the yellow ones are usually just common rat snakes or golden tree snakes, harmless. if you walk the path that goes behind the skate park towards Asok, there's a little drainage canal where i've spotted a few smaller green ones too.

oh definitely, they're common there. i've seen a few near the water's edge by the lotus pond, usually sunning themselves on the rocks. not aggressive at all, just watch where you step if you cut through the grass

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
