Normal electric bill for a 100m condo in bkk with 2 main ac?

I just moved here to bkk in sukhumvhit area into a condo which I understand has lower baht per KwH rate.

Now the meter read at 7,419 kwh the day I moved in (?? How) and it read 1,729 kWh the day it was billed in early dec

So am I being charged for two months of usage?

My bill is 8,669 baht which sounds kinda insane giving the space and I don't run the Ac 24/7 at all. Only max 8-10 hours a day and don't need it at night recently

Anyways lmk if my air con is likely fucked or something else

7419 to 1729 isnt a rollover, thats a replaced meter. if the old one hit 9999 they swap it and start the new one at zero, so you'd be billed the last stretch on the old plus whatever on the new. 8669 over 100sqm with 2 ac is high-ish but not insane, honestly a lot of the bill in sukhumvit is the common area charge and elevator/pool electric tacked on separately, not ur room usage. check if ur bill has a "suan klang" line, thats where the extra usually hides.

8669 for 100sqm with 2 ac is high but not unheard of, though the meter rollover thing the other person mentioned is worth checking first. one thing nobody asked, are u on mae ban or direct MEA billing? in sukhumvit many condos buy from MEA at the 4.2ish rate then resell to u at like 5-6 baht per unit, so ur "lower rate" assumption might be backwards. pull ur juristic person office and ask for the actual rate per unit on ur bill, if its over 5 baht ur getting marked up and thats half ur problem right there. also check if ur ac filters have ever been cleaned, a clogged filter on a non inverter unit can add 30 percent easily

The meter reading thing is confusing, but if the move-in read was 7,419 and the billed read was 1,729, the meter likely rolled over past 9,999 and reset, so you're looking at roughly 4,300 units (10,000 minus 7,419 plus 1,729), not 2 months of double billing. That math actually lines up with your 8,669 baht once you factor in the Ft tariff and service charge. For a 100 sqm with 2 ACs running 8-10 hours, 4,300 units over a full billing cycle is on the high side but not crazy for Bangkok, especially if the units are old non-inverter models. Check whether your ACs are inverter or not, that's usually the difference between a 3,000 baht bill and an 8,000 baht one.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
