Extending tourist exemption at Laksi- can it be done a few times in a row?

I've stayed in Thailand 5 months as a tourist. I started studying a Massage Diploma at a reputable school in November accredited by MOE and tried to apply for the ED visa legitimately for 3 months first, but it was refused at the first step as the school doesn't have immigration links.
To stay in Thailand to study I then had to a visa run to Cambodia by land which expires mid January.
I am still studying until February and wondering if I can extend the last exemption or will they refuse as I have done it 2x previously? I left for a week in Malaysia in between and also extended my entry.
My options are to try this, do another land border run or consider apply for a ED visa for Thai language if not for 3-6 months.

laksi is pretty chill compared to other offices but they've been cracking down on the third extension in a row, especially if you've already done two. i've heard of people getting asked for proof of onward travel or a reason to stay longer than 60 days total. honestly if your school can't help with the ed visa, a quick flight to vientiane or even a day trip to hua hin for a border bounce might be smoother than risking a refusal that could flag you at the airport later
honestly they might start questioning you if you've already done two extensions in a row at Laksi. they're stricter now with back-to-back tourist exemptions. if i were you i'd just do a quick land border run instead, less hassle than risking a refusal that could mess up your plans
Land border runs are getting riskier too, they might flag you for multiple entries. You could try a flight out and back instead, even just to Laos or Malaysia for a day or two.
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.
for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.
honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
