In the US they are sold in Amazon, Walmart, etc. Does anyone know where I can find them in Bangkok? I lost my prescription sunglasses and making new ones takes a week, i cannot wait that long and I cannot wear contacts, unfortunately. Thanks in advance for any leads!

honestly the fastest bet is the eyeglass shops inside Victory Monument area, there's a cluster along Ratchawithi Rd near the hospital, most stock Cocoons and similar fitover brands for around 800-1500 baht. they'll let u try them on over your actual glasses which matters cuz the fit is everything with these things. another option is Lazada, search "fit over sunglasses" and filter to local sellers in BKK, some do same day delivery via Grab if u order before noon.

if ur near a Big C or Tesco Lotus the pharmacy section sometimes has the cheap clip on flip up ones for like 150-250 baht, they clip onto ur existing frames instead of fitting over the whole thing which is way less bulky. watson and boots carry them too but stock is hit or miss. also check the eyeglass stalls at chatuchak weekend market, soi 4 area i think, they sell generic fitovers for a few hundred baht

Terminal 21 has a few optical shops that stock fitovers, worth a look.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
