where are the dogs at?

I have lived in Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, etc so what gives? There seems to be tons of pets stores even in the BTS stations lol.

For what pets?

yeah the other person is right about soi dogs being around at night but honestly if you want to see the cute pet dogs, hit up benjakitti park on weekend mornings around 8-9am. tons of people bring their shibas and corgis there, it's basically a dog meetup. the pet stores in bts are mostly selling accessories and small animals like hamsters and fish, not actual dogs for sale. also check out the dog cafe near thong lo bts, it's called dog in town, they have plenty of shibas hanging around

honestly you're not looking hard enough. walk around any soi in sukhumvit after 10pm and you'll see packs of soi dogs sleeping outside 7-elevens. they're mostly chill if you ignore them. as for the pet stores at bts stations, those are mostly selling fish and hamsters tbh, not dogs

easy answer: go to santiphap park in the evenings around 6, that's where the dog owners hang out after work. way fewer tourists than benjakitti but still plenty of shibas and golden retrievers running around

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
