saturday works for me, A) easy. my ranking would be 1, 3, 2. union mall pubs are actually chill if you hit the ones on the praditmanutham side, away from the main crowds, and parking is decent. ekkamai's fine if you know where to go but wanghin feels like a mission unless you're already out that way. for 1, there's a spot called the rooftop beer garden near the union mall entrance on praditmanutham road, they have a good selection of local craft stuff and it's never too packed before 9pm
i can do saturday. for location, i'd rank em 2, 1, 3. wanghin/chokchai-4 is underrated and you'll actually find parking without a headache. union mall pubs are fine but get crowded fast, and ekkamai/thonglor is overpriced for what it is, especially after 10pm. if we go with 2, let's hit up the street food stalls near the big c on chokchai-4, they stay open late and the grilled pork is solid
A) works for me, saturday's fine. honestly i'd rank 3, 1, 2. ekkamai/thonglor gets a bad rap for being pricey but if you stick to the soi 10 area past 11pm, the vibe's way better than union mall which is just loud and packed with uni kids. wanghin's fine if u want cheap beer but the transport situation is a nightmare unless you're driving. for 3, there's a quiet little spot called the iron fairies on thonglor soi 10 that does decent live music and the drinks aren't crazy like the main street places
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
