Best daytime/early evening stuff for meeting people for solo traveler ?
I can do nightlife stuff but I find it's not the best way to initially bond with people due to due loud music.

What are the best ways to find people during the day to have adventures in Bangkok?
I see that there are food tour, which is up my ally.
If it makes a difference, I am a guy into powerlifting, anime, healthcare (my field), fantasy/adventure lit, photography, and writing, in case there are ways to make like minded people. I see there's meetup for Bangkok, though I'm worried if this is mostly for locals; I'm not a Thai speaker.
I'll be staying in Khao San Road, I also heard that you can hit up the hostels there even if you're not staying there.
honestly skip the food tours, they're fun but you're stuck in a group with headphones listening to someone talk. way better to just hit up a muay thai gym in the afternoon, tons of travelers and locals mix there and it's dead quiet between rounds so you can actually talk. i'd recommend Klong Toey market if you're into food, grab a bowl of kuay teow at the stalls around 4pm and just ask someone what they recommend.
for your anime and fantasy stuff, check out the manga cafe on Siam Square, the one next to the BTS exit. it's got a chill vibe and people are usually sketching or reading alone, easy to start a conversation about what they're into. powerlifting wise there's a solid gym called The Strength House near Ekkamai, pretty friendly crowd and they speak english fine.
Khao San hostels are fine for meeting people, just walk into any common area and sit down. the bar at Rambuttri Village is good for early evening, quieter than the main road and people are more open to chatting. also check out the Bangkok Photographers group on FB, they do walks around Old Town and everyone's pretty welcoming to visitors.
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
