Hey all.

We rented a scooter and we usually park at in front of the 7 eleven on the other side of the street, where there are cars parked also overnight.

However today when we arrived there were cars and other bikes parked in front of our hostel, which is on the right side of the road (while the 7 eleven is at the left) so we decided to park it there.

We went out for dinner and we saw that there's no bikes or cars parked anymore on the right side but cars and bikes on the left side.

So the question is obvious, will we have a problem or the bike removed overnight? There are also traffic cones on the side of the road3. Does that mean we need to remove it?

We are in a street near Khao san road if that helps

Thank you.

yeah the traffic cones are the giveaway, that right side is prob a no-parking zone after a certain hour. near khao san road the street sweepers come through pretty early, like 5am, and they'll tow anything in their way. the left side with the 7-eleven is safer since it's more of a permanent parking spot for locals. my friend parked his bike on the wrong side near soi rambuttri once and woke up to a 500 baht ticket, not worth the risk. just move it to the left before you crash, you'll sleep better

You're probably fine overnight in that area, but the traffic cones mean street sweeping or a morning market setup -- they clear that side for a reason. Near Khao San, the police do ticket or tow bikes that block those spots by 5 or 6am. If you see other bikes parked on the left side consistently, I'd move yours over there before bed just to avoid the hassle.

honestly id just move it to the left side where the cars and bikes are, that right side prob gets cleared for street cleaning or vendors in the morning. near khao san they dont mess around with blocking the sweepers, you might wake up to a ticket or it gone

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
