Can I get my deposit back if the place I just moved in has a cockroach infestation?

Just moved in a new very nice place, or so I thought. Luxury condo at floor 40+, I've been here for three days and I've seen a dozen small German cockroaches. I keep killing them but I see 5-6 new one… Just moved in a new very nice place, or so I thought. Luxury condo at floor 40+, I've been here for three days and I've seen a dozen small German cockroaches. I keep killing them but I see 5-6 new ones every day. The place was poorly cleaned when I moved in, lot of dirt and trash under the tables / couch, I arranged a cleaning and pest control is coming in two days, but I'm worried it might not be enough. The landlord sounds like an absolute cunt that is doing the absolute bare minimum to maintain the unit (I had to arrange the cleaning, I had to fix the washing machine, keycard, etc).

I don't think he will accept giving the deposit back if the pest control doesn't work and I still have cockroaches, and no way I'm staying in a unit that is infested. Is there any law that protects me in this case, or can I involve a lawyer / police or something?

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
