34k baht is tight for Thonglor or Phrom Phong unless you go for an older studio in a building like Rhythm Asok or The Base. Ari gives you more bang for your buck, and you can get something decent at The Line or Centric around that price. The social scene in Ari is more laid back and local, with places like Cafe de Nuit and Nana Coffee Roasters drawing a younger crowd, while Thonglor is more about bars and clubs. If you want to meet people easily, Ari's open layout and the weekend market at La Villa make it easier to bump into neighbors.
for that budget in thonglor or phrom phong you'd be looking at older condos like the base or rhythm, but ari might get you a nicer newer place like the line or centric. lots of young people hang at common spaces like ari's la villa or thonglor's h1

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
