Best hospitals? Suspected gallbladder stone
I'm unsure what hospital would be best to go in Bangkok? I have insurance… Hi everyone, for 24h I'm having some symptoms that resemble gallbladder disease. And I'm in pain which is only getting worse.
I'm unsure what hospital would be best to go in Bangkok? I have insurance just not sure what is recommended for tourists.

samitivej on sukhumvit 49 is worth considering too. their emergency department is fast and they have a solid hepatobiliary team, plus the pricing is somewhere between the tourist traps and the public hospitals. just tell the international desk you suspect gallbladder issues and they'll route you to the right specialist quickly.
Bumrungrad is the usual go-to for tourists but you'll pay for the English concierge and hotel-like lobby. For gallbladder stuff specifically, I'd actually recommend Bangkok Hospital on Soi Soonvijai instead. Same international standards, their GI department handles stones all the time, and the billing tends to be a bit less aggressive than Bumrungrad's. Take your insurance card and passport to the international counter, they'll sort out the direct billing if your policy covers it.
If the pain's getting worse you honestly might want to skip the tourist hospitals and head straight to Siriraj or King Chulalongkorn. They're public but have world-class GI departments and the cost is a fraction of what you'd pay at the private places. Just bring your insurance info and expect to wait a bit longer for English speakers.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
