So where to stay to be close to everything where things happening or close to all shopping, nightlife, food?

When I see on google maps I see a circle which looks like MTR blue line, is this within that circle area what I should be looking into ?

For a month-long stay, I'd look at Phrom Phong or Thong Lo on the Sukhumvit line rather than the MRT circle. The blue line loop is mostly offices and government buildings, not where the nightlife and street food cluster is. Phrom Phong has EmQuartier and EmSphere for shopping, plus a huge night market vibe at the weekend in the Benjasiri Park area, and you're two BTS stops from Asok's nightlife.

Thong Lo is a bit more local and upscale, with tons of hidden bars and some of the best Isaan food in the city. The BTS skytrain is above ground, so it's easier to navigate than the MRT for a visitor, and you can walk to most things in the evening without dealing with underground stations. Either way, avoid staying right at Nana or Cowboy if you want sleep, they're fun to visit but the noise gets old after a week.

The blue line circle you're seeing is the MRT, and honestly most of it is pretty dead for what you're after. The interesting stuff is along the Sukhumvit BTS line, which runs east from Siam out to On Nut and beyond. For a month, I'd anchor yourself somewhere between Phrom Phong and Ekkamai, that stretch gives you the best balance of walkable food, nightlife, and easy access to the rest of the city.

If you want the densest cluster of everything without feeling like you're in a tourist zoo, On Nut is a solid budget pick that's one stop past Thong Lo. It's got a massive local market under the BTS, cheap eats everywhere, and the nightlife is more Thai than expat. You trade some polish for authenticity, but for a month you'll save a lot and still be 15 minutes from the fancy malls.

For shopping specifically, don't sleep on the malls along that line either. Siam Paragon and Central Embassy are worth a visit but they're more for browsing, the real shopping for daily life is at Terminal 21 near Asok and the EmDistrict malls. Also, check out the street food around Soi 38 in Thong Lo, it's a proper late night eating spot that stays busy past midnight.

if ur seeing the blue line loop thats the mrt but honestly for a month stay id skip it and go for the bts line instead, way easier to hop around. ari is a good shout if u want chill vibes but if ur set on shopping & nightlife, look at phra khanong or on nut, theyre more local and u get that bts access without the thong lo prices.

phra khanong has w district which is a cool creative space with bars and cafes, plus theres a night market near the station that's mostly thai folks. on nut has that huge market under the tracks and the nightlife is raw but fun, lots of live music spots. u can get a studio near either for like 12-15k baht a month, way cheaper than the tourist zones.

for shopping, the em district malls are nice but for daily stuff the malls at on nut and phra khanong have everything u need, plus the street food is unbeatable. avoid staying near asok or nana if u value sleep, it's chaos 24/7 and u'll burn out fast.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
