Where can I install a modded chip on my Gen 2 Nintendo Switch in BKK? How much does it cost and how long is the waiting time?

Basically the title, Kob Kun Krap. Basically the title, Kob Kun Krap.

Fortune Town on the 3rd floor near the food court has a couple of shops that do Switch mods, I've seen people pick up their consoles from there. The Hwfly chip install runs around 2,500 to 3,000 baht depending on the shop and whether you bring your own chip. Wait time is usually same day if you drop it off in the morning, but weekends can stretch to 24 hours since they get backed up. Make sure to ask if they do the ribbon cable routing properly, some rushed jobs can cause WiFi issues later.

If you're near the Saphan Kwai area, there's a small shop called Modder Station tucked inside the Soi Phahon Yothin 8 alley. They charge 2,800 baht for a Picofly install and can usually finish in about 4 hours if you drop it off before noon. The owner is particular about soldering quality, so you won't get the WiFi antenna damage issue that some Fortune Town shops are known for. Just call ahead to confirm they have chips in stock, they run out sometimes.

check out zeer rangsit if you're willing to travel a bit, there's a guy in the basement level near the arcade who's been doing switch mods for years. think he charges around 2,800 baht for the hwfly and usually takes about 2-3 hours if he's not swamped. just bring your sd card formatted already or he'll charge extra

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
