i saw a sign on the door last month saying "under new management" but no date given. the building's been in legal limbo for a while apparently, something to do with the lease. if u want vintage gear nearby, soi 5 off sukhumvit has a couple small shops that are actually open and less picked over than chatuchak

yeah that place has been shuttered for a while now, I think since before covid honestly. the whole Olympic Mall area has been kinda dead, even the food court downstairs is mostly empty. if you're looking for that kind of vintage shopping vibe, try Chatuchak weekend market instead, way more variety and actually open

ngl the Nightingale was kind of past its prime even before it closed. the aircon barely worked and half the stalls were selling the same cheap plastic stuff. if you want that old school Bangkok mall feel with actual shops open, try Saphan Phut night market instead

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
