Hi everyone. I have been saving up for a very long time to visit Thailand for my honeymoon. I really want to splurge on a spa day and am looking for something very special.

The Mandarin Oriental looks wonderful to me but I am curious if anyone has another recommendation before I book. I am looking for manage and maybe other spa treatments (wraps, etc). Thank you very much!

If you want something truly special for a honeymoon, I'd suggest The Siam Hotel's spa in Dusit. It's on the river like the Oriental but much quieter and more private. Their signature ritual includes a steam in the herbal chamber, a scrub using local ingredients like tamarind and rice bran, and a 90-minute massage that uses custom blended oils. The whole experience takes around four hours and runs about 12,000 baht per person, but you get access to their pool and the hotel grounds for the rest of the day. The setting is old-world Bangkok without feeling touristy.

Since it's a honeymoon, I'd actually look at The Oasis Spa instead of a hotel spa. They have a location on Sukhumvit Soi 31 that feels like a hidden garden in the middle of the city, and their Lanna treatment combines hot compresses with a wrap that's incredible. It's a bit more intimate than a big hotel spa and the couples room has a private outdoor shower. Book the 3-hour Royal Oasis package, it runs about 8,000 baht per person but you get a full body scrub, wrap, and oil massage.

The Oriental is gorgeous but honestly it's also very busy with tourists and conference groups. For a honeymoon splurge I'd look at Panpuri's flagship on Langsuan Road, it's tucked away near Lumpini Park and feels much more private. Their Mekong Secret treatment is a two hour journey with a salt scrub, a steam in their private hammam, and a massage using their own oil blends, it's around 9,000 baht. The space itself is all dark wood and candlelight, very romantic without feeling like you're in a hotel lobby.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
