I focus on private markets investments supported by our web3 technology built in house. While I spend time in Singapore, I would be glad to join an existing community there.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you all in advance!

Bangkok's fintech overlap with private markets is smaller than people expect, but the angel and VC crowd is worth your time. Check out the Bangkok Angels group and events run through True Incube, plus the Thai startup circuit around Ari and Phaya Thai where a lot of founders and early investors actually hang out. For web3 specifically, the Ethereum and Solana meetups rotate venues but are usually announced on Meetup and Line groups rather than Facebook. If you want deal flow for private markets, honestly Singapore still wins, but Bangkok works well for building the product cheaply and testing with local funds.

Worth adding a few things the others skipped. For private markets specifically, the Thai private equity and family office crowd tends to cluster around the Thai Listed Companies Association events and the occasional AMCHAM luncheons at the Sheraton on Sukhumvit, which pull in fund managers you won't see at the crypto meetups. On the web3 side, there's a smaller but real builder scene at the True Digital Park co-working floors on weekdays, not just event nights, and that's where I've met people actually shipping infra rather than trading. One practical note: most of these groups coordinate on Line, so get added to a couple of Line OpenChats early, Facebook events are mostly noise here.

Since nobody's mentioned it yet, look at the Thailand Fintech Association's member directory even if you don't join, it's a decent map of who's actually active versus who just shows up to panels. For your specific mix of private markets plus in house web3, I'd also keep an eye on the Kasikorn Business Technology Group side of things, they run quiet invite only sessions at their KBTG building in Pak Kret that pull together fund people and engineers, which sounds closer to your world than the trading heavy meetups. One thing worth flagging, a lot of the serious private markets conversations here happen over lunch at the private clubs around Wireless and Sathorn rather than at public events, so building two or three genuine relationships will get you further than chasing every meetup listing. Singapore will still be where you sign, but Bangkok is quietly good for the pilot and dev side.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
