Moving to a different bangkok condo in January, is there any easy way to have any post sent from my old condo to my new condo here in Bangkok?

I can't seem to find any easy service like Royal Mail do back in the UK... So handy.

Or is it possible for the juristic staff to collect mail for me and hold onto it? Only need it for 6-12 months because I should have everything changed over by then.

The juristic office route is your best bet, just make sure you leave them a written note with your signature and contact info. I've seen some condos on Ratchada toss mail after a couple weeks if no one claims it, so a monthly check-in call helps.

For anything official like tax forms or credit card statements, you can set up a temporary forwarding address with Thailand Post's "change of address" form at any post office. It costs 100 baht and they'll forward for six months, but you need to bring your yellow book or lease and a copy of your ID.

One thing people overlook is the mail that comes to your old condo's lobby from delivery services like Kerry or Flash. Those guys often leave packages at the juristic desk without checking names, so tell your old staff to reject anything for you after the first month.

honestly just ask the juristic office at your old condo. most of them will hold mail for you if you let them know in advance, some might charge a small fee like 200-300 baht a month but it's worth it. i've done this before at a condo on sukhumvit and they just kept everything in a drawer for me.

the thai postal service does have a redirect service but it's a pain to set up and you have to go to the main post office in person with your old lease and some id. not worth the hassle for just 6-12 months imo.

also worth changing your address with bangkok bank or whatever bank you use asap since they send a lot of stuff. everything else like amazon or grab can be updated online pretty quick.

yeah the juristic office is the easiest move. my old condo on phra khanong just kept a little binder with forwarding requests, they charged me 200 baht upfront for the whole 6 months i needed it.

one thing nobody mentioned - you can also just put a note in your old mailbox with the new address and a polite request. thai post workers are pretty chill about tossing things in the right direction if they see it, especially in condo buildings where they know the staff. saved me from missing a hospital bill that way.

for anything important like bank cards or tax docs, change those online first. most thai banks have an address update in their app now, takes 2 minutes. everything else can trickle in slowly and the juristic will hold it.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
