Between Samut Prakan OR Tambon Sam Rong Nua where would you stay for a month?

Will be using public transit and Grab.

Not a big partier so night life is not that important.

Like coffee shops, street food and getting 15,000 steps.

Maybe gym or yoga.

You can get a decent studio near Bearing BTS for around 8,000-10,000 baht a month, and that southern stretch of Sukhumvit is quieter than central Bangkok but still has plenty of the essentials. The walking path along the canal near Lasalle Road is good for those steps, and there are a few proper coffee roasters like Roastology that do good pour-overs. For yoga, check out Bikram Yoga Bangna, it's a bit of a walk from the station but they do monthly unlimited for 2,500 baht. The street food is less touristy around there too, especially the grilled pork skewers at the Soi Bearing market.

sam rong nua is basically bangkok already, especially around the bts stations. you'll get way more walkable streets and random coffee spots to hit those steps. samut prakan proper is more spread out and you'd rely on the songthaews more which can be annoying

for a month i'd pick sam rong nua and just hop the bts into the city when you want. there's a decent little yoga studio called yoga tree near imperial world that does drop-in classes for like 300 baht. and the street food along sukhumvit road there is solid, especially the boat noodles near the samrong market area

also grab is cheap enough there that you won't feel stuck if you need to go further out. samut prakan has some cool spots like the ancient city but you'd be visiting those as day trips anyway not living there

yeah sam rong nua for sure, it's way more convenient for just walking around and finding stuff. the area around bts samrong has this little market street that's packed with food stalls all day, great for getting those steps in. there's a gym called fitfac that does monthly passes for like 1500 baht if you need to lift, and it's like 5 mins from the station

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
