Best full English breakfast places in Bangkok?

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

The breakfast at The Sportsman on Sukhumvit soi 13 is solid, proper back bacon and all, but you're paying 320 baht for the full set which is steep for what it is. If you're on a budget the little British pub down soi 22 does a decent fry up for around 180, though the sausages are those cheap frozen ones. Also worth knowing most places only do it till 11am or noon, after that you're stuck with hotel buffets.

if you're anywhere near Phrom Phong, check out Breakfast Story on soi 33. not a pub vibe at all, more like a proper diner, and their full english runs about 260 with real pork sausages not the frozen ones. only thing is they open at 8 and close by 3, so its a morning thing.

honestly the one at king pete's on soi 33 is my go to, think its 250ish and the black pudding is actually real not that weird mushy stuff. its more of a cheap and cheerful expat spot so dont expect fancy but the portions are big enough to skip lunch

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
