Where can I play pool?
In the UK sometimes I go to the bar/… I really wanna play pool.. but when I'm in the girly bars in the nana area the staff are trying to push me into it. Naturally it probably costs a lot so I refuse.
In the UK sometimes I go to the bar/pub and just play on my own practicing potting balls. Sometimes I'll play some randomer Usually costs 50p.
Can I find the same experience here?
honestly just skip sukhumvit altogether for pool, the tables there are overpriced and usually beat up. head over to ratchada, there's a place called snooker club 99 near huai khwang station, it's a proper pool hall with american tables and they charge by the hour like 150-200 baht. you can practice alone all day and nobody bothers you, plus the crowd is mostly thai locals who actually know how to play
The Pool Hall on Soi 22 is a solid bet, but if you're closer to Nana, check out The Game on Soi 4. It's a proper sports bar with decent tables and the staff won't hassle you. You can grab a beer for around 120 baht and play for maybe 60-80 baht per game, which is a lot more reasonable than what the girly bars would charge. They're usually fine with you practicing alone if it's not too busy.
Yeah you can definitely find proper pool places around, just not in Nana. Try a place like The Pool Hall on Sukhumvit Soi 22, it's chill and you can play on your own or find a game, way cheaper than the bar scene.
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
