honestly 1600 baht is tough for anything decent new. you might find some old xiaomi redmi models or a samsung galaxy j series at those prices but they'll be slow and prob have broken screens. better to check the phone stalls at mbk center or pantip plaza, they sometimes have secondhand ones that work fine for like 1500-1800
if u can stretch to 2000 baht you could grab a redmi 9a or something similar used, that's a much better experience for daily use

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
