Temple to stay at English?

Are their any temples in Bangkok that one may actually stay at to practice and speak English possibly? Are their any temples in Bangkok that one may actually stay at to practice and speak English possibly?

I'd look into the International Buddhist Meditation Center at Wat Ratchanatdaram, it's right by the Golden Mount but less touristy. They have a monk chat program every Saturday afternoon where you can practice English and they actually encourage you to ask about daily life rather than just doctrine. If you're looking to stay overnight, the temple doesn't have a formal guesthouse but the abbot sometimes lets sincere visitors sleep in a spare room near the monks' quarters if you help with morning chores. You'd need to go in person and talk to Phra Khru Palad, he's the English speaking monk there.

wat suan mokkh has a program called the international dharma hermitage out in chaiya, it's a few hours south of bangkok but worth the trip. they do 10 day retreats with english instruction and you stay on site, donations only so it's cheap. the monks there actually want to practice english with you during the walking meditation chats

if you want to stay in the city itself though, wat saket (the golden mount) used to let foreigners stay but i think they stopped after covid. check with the monks at the bottom of the stairs, they might know a workaround

You might want to check out Wat Mahathat near the Grand Palace. They've got a well known meditation program where monks will speak English with you, though it's more about practice than casual conversation. The monastery also offers short term stays for serious practitioners, just show up early in the morning to ask about availability. I'd budget around 300 baht a night for a basic room.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
