Thermae Cafe... is it worth shopping?

Are prices for short time fair? I've been told the price range is ฿3000 - ฿4000. Also are room provided? Obviously I don't plan on taking her back to my hotel. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thank you in advance.

thermae is fine for what it is but prices have crept up a bit, closer to 3500-4000 now for short time. no rooms there, just grab one of the short-time hotels on soi 7/1 or soi 4, they're like 500-800 baht. honestly if you want more selection and a less smoky vibe, try the gogo bars on soi cowboy instead, the girls are more upfront about pricing and you can negotiate easier

honestly thermae is more of a vibe spot than a shopping experience lol. the prices you heard are about right but rooms aren't provided so you'd need a short-time hotel nearby like those on soi 4 or soi 11. if you just wanna hang and watch the scene it's fine but don't expect it to be like a gogo bar where everything's laid out. also bring cash cause the atm there charges a fee

yeah thermae's more of a late-night hangout than a browsing spot tbh. prices are in that range but rooms aren't on-site, just walk over to one of the short-time hotels on soi 4 or soi 7/1, they're like 500-1000 baht for a couple hours. if you want a more laid-back vibe to just look around, try the balcony area upstairs around midnight, less pushy than the ground floor

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
