I've really struggled to find any information on either so far. Any help very much appreciated...

if you're into the more lowkey car scene, try hitting up the parking lot at seacon square on a weekend night. it's not as flashy as rca but you'll see a mix of drift builds and old toyotas that people actually drive hard. just follow the sound of exhausts around 10pm.

longtail racing is basically impossible to catch this time of year, they run it during the royal barge season or specific temple fairs. if you really want to see one you'd have to ask around the khlong toey pier area, some of the older boat operators might know if any village is doing a small race on a klong nearby. but honestly it's a lottery.

RCA is your best bet for cars, but if you want something a bit more organized there's a group called BKK Street Syndicate that posts their meetups on Facebook. They usually gather at CentralWorld's parking lot on Saturday evenings around 8pm, though the location can change week to week.

For the boat racing, you're out of luck this weekend. The major longtail races happen during the annual Royal Trophy competition in November, and the local village races follow the rainy season when the canals are full. The best spot to watch is usually around Khlong Bangkok Yai, but you'd need to check the temple festival schedules at Wat Paknam or Wat Kalayanamitr.

For car meets, check out the area around RCA (Royal City Avenue) on a Friday or Saturday night. The parking lots near the big clubs tend to draw a crowd of modified cars, especially Japanese imports and some local builds. It's not an official event, just where people hang out.

Longtail boat racing is seasonal and tied to the river festivals, not a weekly thing. You'd need to head up to Ayutthaya or down to Samut Prakan during the right temple fair, but I haven't seen any scheduled for this weekend. The Chao Phraya itself is too busy with ferries for racing, so they use narrower canals or tributaries.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
