I am wondering what do you consider to be well off or rich when it comes to yourself or other expats living in the city? What income puts you in top 10% amongst foreign immigrants? Whether it be retirement, passive income, or actively working.

Yeah I'd say if you own your place outright and have 200k+ coming in monthly you're basically set. That's not just comfortable, that's "I don't even look at the bill" rich here.

honestly if you're pulling over 300k baht a month you're doing better than most expats here. that puts you in proper condo territory with a car and dinners out whenever you want

fwiw anyone clearing 500k+ a month is basically in a diff league than most expats. that's private school for kids and a house in a gated community money.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
