I'm looking to improve upon my physical physique. Looking to hire a full time personal trainer and looking for good recommendations for the best fitness club in Bangkok. Price is not an issue. I've decided to stay in the Bang Rak area, but am willing to switch accommodations if it means I'll be closer to the gym.

Requirements for fitness club

1)Ice bath 2)sauna 3)Red light therapy room 4)Hbot chamber

Thanks you in advance all suggestions will be appreciated.

Honestly with that budget and those specific recovery needs you're prob looking at Virgin Active or one of the high-end private studios around Thong Lo. Virgin Active at CentralWorld has a solid sauna and cold plunge but I'm not sure about red light therapy or HBOT chambers - those are more niche. For a full setup with HBOT you'd want to check out Elite Fitness on Sukhumvit 24, they've got the whole cryo and compression suite thing going on and trainers there are used to working with expats for months-long programs. Bang Rak to Thong Lo is like a 15 min BTS ride so you don't even need to move honestly

yeah check out The Yard at Thong Lo, they've got a legit recovery zone with ice baths and sauna plus they do red light therapy. Not sure about the hbot chamber but most high-end places in that area are flexible if you ask. If you're set on the full hbot setup, try BioFit on Sathorn, it's closer to Bang Rak and they've got trainers who specialize in physique stuff

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
