Like an experience of driving /sitting in supercars down a straight line even.. ? Just looking to do fun things in a group and trying to elevate from go-kart.

Thanks

Bira International Circuit down in Pattaya is probably your best bet within a couple hours of Bangkok. They run a supercar experience program where you can take Lamborghinis and Ferraris out on the track with an instructor, no racing license needed. It'll set you back around 8,000-12,000 baht for a few laps depending on the car, but it's a proper track not just a straight line.

If you really just want a straight line blast, there's a drag strip at Bira too on certain weekends, but the full track experience is more fun for a group. You could also check out the driving experiences at CentralWorld or Siam Paragon when they have events, though those are usually temporary setups and not as thrilling as a real circuit.

honestly if you want something more intense than go-kart but don't want to drive all the way to pattaya, check out kaeng krachan circuit in phetchaburi province. it's about 2 hours west of bangkok, smaller than bira but they do a track day experience with instructors and you can rent proper sedans or sometimes sporty cars like the toyota yaris cup cars. much cheaper too, like 2,500-4,000 baht for a session

for a pure straight line adrenaline hit, there's a drag strip at the suvarnabhumi airport racing complex sometimes, but it's irregular. honestly the best group fun i've had was booking a drift taxi session at bira where you just ride passenger in a skidding supra, no driving skill needed and everyone's screaming by lap two

if you're up for something a bit different, speedzone in central bangkok has those high-speed go-karts that are way faster than the usual ones, like 50km/h+ on a proper indoor track. not a supercar but for a group it's a solid step up and way closer than driving to pattaya. otherwise, check out the track at muang aek golf course in rangsit, they do drifting experiences in modified cars for like 3,000 baht per person for 10 laps, instructor rides with you the whole time. ng l it's not a straight line but sliding around corners in a cloud of tire smoke is a hell of a group activity

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
