I noticed iPhone prices are a bit higher in Thailand. I have a used iPhone 12, should I bring it to Thailand to sell to a phone shop?

Anyone know how much I could get for it? iPhone 12 plus, 256 mb.

The Apple Store here in Korea was willing to pay 450,000 krw ($337 usd / 11,078 thb) as a trade in but I wasn't ready to trade it in so quickly at the time.

I noticed a lot of phone shops at the MBK center last time I was in Bangkok.

Both replies are pretty spot on. One thing nobody mentioned though is that some of those MBK shops will try to switch your phone out for a dummy model during the inspection, so keep your hand on it the whole time. If you're set on selling here, Fortune Town is way safer and less chaotic than MBK or Pantip.

You're right that prices here are higher, but the used phone market works a bit differently. The shops at MBK will offer you something like 8,000 to 9,000 baht cash for a clean 256GB iPhone 12 Plus, maybe a bit more if your battery health is above 90%. They'll check the IMEI to see if it's a Korean model, and if it is, some shops might knock off another 500 baht because they claim the camera shutter sound can't be disabled.

I'd skip the shops entirely and try the Thai secondhand groups on Facebook, like "Iphone มือสอง" or "ของมือสอง แต่งวดได้." You can list it for around 11,000 to 12,000 baht and probably sell it within a week if you price it right. Just meet at a mall like CentralWorld or a 7-Eleven near a BTS station for safety. The Korean trade in offer you got was actually fair for a quick transaction, but if you have the patience to sell it yourself here, you might walk away with a bit more cash.

yeah mbk has tons of shops but they're gonna lowball you hard on a used import phone tbh. the shops at fortune town (rama 9) or the ones along pantip plaza tend to be a bit more fair with pricing since they deal with more international models.

for a 256gb iphone 12 plus you're prob looking at 8,000-9,500 thb in cash from a shop here. they'll deduct for any scratches or battery health under 85%. if u can wait and sell it directly on facebook marketplace or in a thai group you could get closer to 11k but it takes time and dealing with strangers.

honestly the trade in at apple korea was a solid offer. 11k thb for a 12 plus is decent. if u already sold it in korea u woulda saved the hassle of carrying it here and dealing with haggling at those shops

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
