follow BTS on their official social media, they usually post a few days before. also check the rabbit card website, sometimes they list upcoming releases there. honestly you gotta be quick, they sell out within hours at busy stations like siam or asok.

honestly the BTS app has been more reliable for me than their socials, they push notifications to ur phone if u have it installed. also the 7-eleven top-up machines sometimes have stock that the station booths don't, try the one at chit lom or ploenchit if ur near those. they usually drop on the first of the month around 6am but it's not always consistent

The rabbit card releases are usually tied to specific events or holidays, so if you know the Thai calendar you can sometimes guess. Songkran in April, the King's birthday in July, New Year's in January. I've had luck asking at the information counter at Mo Chit station, the staff there seem to know a day or two before the official announcement. They also tend to drop more cards at less busy stations like Saphan Khwai or Ari, so if you live near those it's worth checking there first instead of Siam.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
