Landing in BKK at 5:30 pm, should I take ARL then BTS to Asok, or Grab?

I was wondering if it would be better to take public transport (bearing in mind it would be the evening peak period) or a grab (not sure if the traffic will be bad)? I am staying near Asok. What would you recommend? Thank you!

honestly just grab the ARL to phaya thai then switch to the bts to asok, it's like 30 mins total and you skip all that sukhumvit traffic. grab at 530 will be a nightmare on the expressway, plus you'll pay 400 baht for the privilege of sitting still lol

Take the Airport Rail Link to Makkasan, then switch to the MRT Phetchaburi station for one stop to Sukhumvit. You'll come up right at Asok. A Grab from the airport at that hour will sit on the expressway for at least 45 minutes, probably longer, and cost you 400-500 baht. The train is 45 baht and takes about 35 minutes door to door from the platform.

Yeah honestly just take the ARL to Makkasan then hop on the MRT to Sukhumvit, it's way faster than dealing with that traffic. Grab at 5:30pm is gonna be a nightmare on the expressway, you'll prob spend 500 baht and an hour just sitting there. The train is like 45 baht and way more chill

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
