What's the best credit card to get in Thailand?

Image marionscheibe local ·

If you're a foreigner living here long term, the SCB M Visa or Krungsri's Mastercard are solid picks. SCB's points system is decent for cashback on groceries and dining, which is where most of my spending goes. Krungsri often has better 0% installment deals on electronics or furniture if that's your thing. Just avoid the ones with annual fees unless you're hitting the spending threshold to waive them, most Thai banks will let you skip the fee if you ask.

honestly depends on whether you're just visiting or living here. for most people the Kbank K-Web card is pretty straightforward, no annual fee and decent cashback on online shopping. but if you're a big spender at malls or 7-Eleven, the Krungsri Lady First card gives u better rewards at those spots. just watch out for the foreign transaction fees if you're using it outside Thailand, they can sneak up on you

the UOB One card is worth a look if you're the type who pays bills on time. their cashback tiers are pretty straightforward, 5% on utilities and phone bills up to a cap, no rotating categories to track. downside is the app is kinda clunky compared to SCB's, and the rewards expire faster than I'd like. but for a no-fuss setup it beats dealing with point systems

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
